Individual Creative Project

Written, Designed, and Engineered by Yang-Kai Hsieh

Interactive Dialogue:Who…? is an individual creative project I made for my final semester creative research project for my BDP Digital Arts and Media certificate. It is one of my favorite personal projects to date, and also the one I personally have the most fun in. The project included the very essence of “me“, along with many topics of my personal interests.

Who…? is an experience designed in a smartphone texting app interface that starts with a random person called Jonathan texting the user what may seem like spam messages. After being forced to agree to participate in an “experiment“ by these spam messages, users are assigned the task of deciding the other’s fate through the medium of responding to text messages. Users may have a choice between different diverging choices of texts to decide and continue with the story.

Each story, in fact, expresses a theme on the relatable humanistic issues in the modern world. Topics can go from modern technology to human ethics or even general difficult choices we have to make in life.
